Interestingly there exists a hillock in Bhagalpur district of Bihar which the locals believe as mount Mandara , the mountain used for churning the milky ocean . The height of this hillock is less than eight hundred feet and it appears to be a granite monolith . In his magnum opus Kumara sambhava , Kalidasa refers to the foot marks of Lord Vishnu on the slopes of Mandara hill .

This place incidentally is also the famed kingdom of Anga ruled by the legendary warrior Karna Who is known for his charity , valour ,and friendship .
